Load testing with Reload Swiss RS60 and the GnZ Precision Rifle build.

I took a trip down to Bisley today in order to run a barrel break in on the .260Rem and do a little load testing. Although the weather was pretty awful the day proved fruitful and results were very impressive. You may have read the previous Presicion Rifle article which featured Mik Maksimovic at Dolphin……

AR15 On a diet part 3.. ADMFG Recon scope mounts and Magpul furniture.

If you read the first in this series you will see the GnZ AR has changed considerably over the last few weeks. It began life as an SPR type build which was very popular about 5 years ago. The build looked to be modelled on a Knights Armament special purpose rifle.   These became very popular……

Building a Precision Rifle part 2.5.. A quick update from 600yds.

I headed back out to Bisley today with regular contributor Raf and the Precision Rifle project.
The project is based around a £350 second hand Remington 700 in .308.. It will end up as a light weight .260Rem. Please head back and check out the first two articles for in depth descriptions of the plan……

Building a Precision Rifle Part 2 – MDT HS3 Stock assembly and DNZ Gamereaper mounts.

After a couple of weeks of paperwork and thumb twiddling the second hand Remington 700 finally arrived (many thanks to ACP Shooting, Sussex, UK).
I had been trawling the used ads online and found an ADL (basic model) for £350.
The rifle is well used but in satisfactory condition given the price. The barrel is……

AR15 On a diet part 2 – Rainier Arms Evo handguard and muzzle brake testing.

In the last article I discussed lightening and modernising the old SPR build we have here. Graham from ACP Shooting (Sussex, England) kindly fitted the Rainier Evolution handguard.
Rainier Arms provided two muzzle brakes which were originally going to be used in a group test…….

Two days in Wales…

Once again the Guns and Zen crew teamed up with Transcontinental shooting for two glorious days of shooting in Wales…

Day 1. Clays.

I will be the first to admit that my clay shooting sucks really badly. I have only been a handful of times and received no proper instruction on any occassion. I became pretty despondant……

More Practical shotgun fun @ Phoenix

After a rather long break of a couple of months I thought I would head out for some practical shotgun. I am lucky enough to live reasonably near the previously mentioned Phoenix practical shooting club. The drive to the club is enjoyable in it’s own right. Beautiful rolling downland, sweeping valleys lush with evergreen, all……

Magpul PRS butt stock review.

I have been using the PRS for about a year now. I figured it has been long enough to provide an honest account of it’s performance. I am not a Magpul fanboy by any means. I have used many Magpul products, some I liked and some I didn’t. The PRS is a bit of both……
